Current product liability law provides strict liability for AI systems incorporated into physical products, but not in relation to stand-alone AI systems. This difference in legal liability is difficult to justify in principle. The government must carefully consider any recommendations from the ongoing Law Commission review, including on this specific point. (Conclusion, Paragraph 156)
