Government Response Accepted
HM Government Accepted
We welcome the Committee’s support for this clause of the Bill, which will repeal the Safety of Rwanda (Asylum and Immigration) Act 2024 (SoRA 2024) in its entirety. The Government has always been clear that it would not proceed with the Migration and Economic Development Partnership with Rwanda. The SoRA 2024 has served no practical purpose since it became law, and it is therefore appropriate for the Government to repeal it.
