Conclusion (the committee's words)
The explicit removal of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea limitation creates a perception that the Secretary of State might allow enforcement powers even when the Government considers this to be a violation of international law . The House may wish to seek confirmation of the Government’s intention to respect the UK’s international obligations.
