Prisons: planning and policies

Status: Closed Opened: 20 Nov 2013 Closed: 14 Jul 2015 1 report
Inquiry scopeThis is the Committee's first major inquiry on prison planning and policies of this Parliament and the current Government's programme of reforms and efficiency savings. The inquiry does not consider the circumstances in which offenders should be sentenced to custody. The relationship between sentencing, prison policy and crime reduction has been considered by the Committee in other contexts, including in its current inquiry into Crime reduction: a coordinated approach?
