Recommendation 36

We call on the Ministry of Justice to increase its support for the staff of the Probation Service in Wales. The upcoming strategic review of probation should be accompanied by a review of the service’s staff numbers, pay and working conditions so that the Department can best realise its ambition to increase its use of community alternatives to custodial sentences.
