Recommendation 20

We call on the Ministry of Justice to confirm its plans for the Swansea Residential Women’s Centre as soon as possible. These plans should confirm whether the site will be opening, and, if so, when it will open. Additionally, it should confirm its admissions criteria so that expert stakeholders and lived experience groups can confirm that the centre is indeed providing a genuine alternative to custody before any further sites are introduced across England and Wales.
