- The government says that, like the committee, it recognises that online gambling "has grown rapidly in recent years".
- The rate for remote gaming will increase from 21% to 40% from 1 April 2026.
- The rate for remote betting will increase from 15% to 25% from 1 April 2027.
- There will be "no tax changes for bets on UK horseracing or in person gambling", and Bingo Duty will be abolished from 1 April 2026.
