Inquiry scopeThe Independent Commission on Banking was established by the Government in June 2010 to "consider the structure of the UK banking sector, and look at structural and non-structural measures to reform the banking system and promote competition". The Commission published its Interim Report on 11 April 2011 and the Committee undertook a short inquiry on its proposals.
