Recommendation 16

We welcome the commitment from government that it intends, through legislation, to improve transparency and information sharing. The department should work with the Home Office to place information sharing between policing bodies and licensing authorities on a statutory footing so that there are common expectations everywhere. This should 48 include a duty to share relevant safeguarding and risk information for licensing purposes, supported by a standard expectation on timeliness. (Recommendation, Paragraph 70)
