Select Committee · Transport Committee
Coronavirus: emergency measures for the railways
Status: Closed
Opened: 21 Oct 2020
Closed: 29 Apr 2021
Inquiry scope
This one-off session is to scrutinise the Government's emergency measures (namely the Emergency Measures Agreements and the Emergency Recovery Management Agreements) to support rail operators through the pandemic. The Committee will question witnesses on: the financial arrangements within these contracts, with a view to consider whether they offer the taxpayer value for money; and how the Government plans to support the recovery of the railway. While this session is a one-off oral evidence session, the topic is linked to the Committee’s inquiry on Reforming public transport after the pandemic .Oral evidence sessions
