Intergovernmental Relations: The Civil Service

The inquiry is examining the role of the civil service in supporting the work of both the UK and Scottish Governments and relations between them. Key themes include: the relationships between officials serving the two governments; what challenges divergence in the governments’ policy and constitutional agendas pose for officials; and to what extent the existence of a unified civil service assists intergovernmental relations. Following the announcement that a General Election will be held on 4 July, Select Committees will be unable to meet from 24 May and will cease to exist from 30 May until after the General Election.
