The Government welcomes the Committee’s recognition of the success of Project ADDER. Project ADDER (Addiction, Diversion, Disruption, Enforcement and Recovery) is a highly ambitious programme which brings together partners across policing, health and local authorities to address drug misuse and drug-related crime. The programme is overseen by the Home Office and the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) within the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) working in close collaboration. Project ADDER’s whole systems approach aligns closely with the ambitions of the Government’s 10-year Drug Strategy, From Harm to Hope, to deliver a world-class treatment and recovery system, break drug supply chains and achieve a generational shift in the demand for drugs.
