Provide urgent government response to Lord Walney's review on protecting elected representatives' offices.
Conclusion
We are aware that Lord Walney’s review, which will look at whether powers for enhanced protection for public spaces could be extended to offices of elected representatives, is with the Home Office. We look forward to a much more urgent response from the Government.
Government Response Summary

The Government is committed to ensuring that the policing system has the powers, resources and tools they need. The Government has confirmed a total police funding settlement of up to £18.5 billion in 2024–25, an increase of up to £886.1 million when compared to 2023–24. We have fulfilled our commitment to recruit 20,000 additional police officers and this is being maintained, with £425 million available to forces to maintain officer numbers throughout 2024–25. The police funding settlement also provides £1 billion for national policing priorities in 2024–25 to ensure policing bodies and local forces have the resources and tools they need to address the evolving challenges of policing in the 21st Century. We recognise that the current police funding formula is out of date and no longer accurately reflects demand on policing and are currently undertaking a review. Although we are working to introduce new funding arrangements as soon as possible, their quality and longevity is our focus. Any changes to funding arrangements will be well planned, with effective transition arrangements to enable sound financial management by PCCs and Chief Constables. Hate crime and terrorist offences
