Conclusion (the committee's words)
There is a significant risk that extending routes to settlement will increase the number of families who are deeply rooted in the UK but have precarious immigration status. This is obviously not an intended goal of the Home Office and would increase administrative pressures on the immigration system, as well as having adverse consequences for the families affected. (Conclusion, Paragraph 113) Transitional protections
