Inquiry scope
In October 2016, the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman (PHSO) published Driven to despair: How drivers have been let down by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (PDF 642 KB) . In 'Driven to Despair', the PHSO sets out eight cases they investigated which, they report, illustrate significant failings with how the DVLA makes decisions about fitness to drive. The Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee is holding a one-off oral evidence session to explore key issues raised by the PHSO's most recent report and the actions needed to address those issues.Oral evidence sessions
