The Strategic Vision for Gender Equality continues to reflect and respond to the UK Government’s ambitions on this agenda and will guide our future work. The FCDO will retain and build on the Strategic Vision, taking full advantage of our diplomatic and development levers. This work will include bringing a clear focus on implementation, in line with the recommendation made by the National Audit Office in 2020. The UK International Development Act (Gender Equality) 2014 continues to make a consideration Seventh Special Report of Session 2019–21 11 of gender equality in all UK development assistance a legal requirement. The Act puts the UK ODA commitment to gender equality on a statutory footing and ensures that gender equality remains at the heart of the UK’s ODA work.
