Select committee: International Development Committee

Humanitarian situation in Ukraine

Open Opened 6 Oct 2026
Inquiry scope (the committee's words)
On 24 February 2022, Russia began a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. More than four and a half years later, the conflict continues to inflict damage on civilian infrastructure, which has humanitarian and global health consequences. Ukraine remains a priority crisis for the UK government, one to which it continues to allocate significant sums of ODA. This session will give members the chance to explore the challenges anti-microbial diseases emerging from Ukraine pose to both the health situation in the country and more widely. It will also give members the opportunity to question those responsible for coordinating the humanitarian and civil society response to the crisis. Both panels of witnesses will shed light on where UK support is making a difference and where there is an opportunity for future focus.
