Since the beginning of the fighting on 15 April 2023, the International Development Committee has closely monitored developments in Sudan, including by holding an oral evidence session on the conflict in May 2023. With the one-year anniversary of the beginning of the conflict now having passed, Committee heard evidence on the current state of affairs in Sudan, with aid workers in Sudan able to give testimony on the state of the conflict, the difficulties in delivering aid to affected civilians and the prospects for a ceasefire.
