Forced displacement in Africa inquiry

The government says it fully agrees with 22 recommendations, partially agrees with 9 and disagrees with 3, with all recommendations addressed to DFID "accepted or partially accepted".

• It agrees that DFID should push for robust accountability at international level, saying it is "actively involved" in developing indicators to track progress under the Global Compact on Refugees.
• On the Committee's request for annual reports from March 2020, it partially agrees, saying it "would propose sharing our reporting with the Committee" from existing Global Compact mechanisms to avoid duplication.
• It disagrees that asylum seekers' right to work should be urgently reassessed; it says that although there are "no current plans to change" policy, the Home Secretary wished to review it and work is ongoing.
• It disagrees on a national migration and forced displacement strategy, stating "We do not need an additional national strategy", and on increasing resettlement to 10,000 places a year, saying it has "no plans to increase this at the present time".
