Inquiry scope
The International Development Committee conducted an oral evidence session on the current humanitarian crisis in Syria with the Secretary of State for International Development. The UN estimates that 6.8 million people in Syria need humanitarian assistance as a result of the crisis and over 2 million refugees have fled to neighbouring countries. This session examined the UK’s response, focussing on its commitment to provide £500 million humanitarian aid.
