We are concerned that many local authorities do not have enough suitability skilled staff to robustly regulate and enforce standards in their private rented markets. If not addressed this problem threatens to undermine the steps the government is taking to raise standards and the effectiveness of other reforms introduced by the Renters’ Rights Act.
