We welcome the government’s decision to apply Awaab’s Law to the private rented sector.
Conclusion
We welcome the government’s decision to apply Awaab’s Law to the private rented sector. While landlords are already required to keep their homes free from serious hazards, Awaab’s Law will strengthen this protection 81 by establishing clear timeframes landlords need to meet to make their homes safe. We are disappointed, however, that the government has not yet committed to a clear timeframe for introducing these protections. (Conclusion, Paragraph 61)
