The Government has completed the Towns Fund and all Town Deals have been allocated. Going forward, authorities that wish to compete for funding for Town Deals should do so by applying to the Levelling Up Fund. The Levelling Up Fund is a competitive fund for capital projects to drive regeneration and growth in places in need, and it invests in three themes: local transport, town centre and high street regeneration, and cultural and heritage assets. The first round of the Levelling Up Fund saw 105 projects awarded up to £1.7 billion. The second round will launch in Spring 2022. The Government will set out further details for places to prepare for the second round of the Levelling Up Fund in due course.
