The RSH is an executive non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities . The pre-appointment hearing is an opportunity for the Committee to assess a candidate’s suitability for their appointment, including their knowledge, skills and independence, and make a recommendation to the Secretary of State on whether the appointment should go ahead.
