The Government "notes" the Committee's report, says it has begun work on the future of UK sanctions policy, and in places agrees, in places declines or says it will consider the Committee's proposals.

On human rights ("Magnitsky") sanctions, the Government "intends to establish" a UK autonomous regime, with work already begun on secondary legislation to introduce it "as soon as practicable after we leave the EU".
On a Senior Responsible Officer for sanctions and a review of sanctions strategy, the Government says it "will consider" both proposals, pointing to existing SROs within the FCO and the cross-Government system.
On a review of the Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation, the Government "does not propose to undertake a specific review" of its work "at this time", saying OFSI undertakes regular reviews.
On blocking a company listing on national security grounds, the Government is "investigating the possibility" of a power, and says neither HM Treasury nor the FCA currently has one.
