Conclusion
Vladimir Putin’s aggression in Europe, and the energy crisis that it has provoked, provides a new impetus to accelerate the transition away from polluting fossil fuels. Driving this transition through greater investment in energy efficiency and low- carbon technologies enhances energy security, protects households from fossil fuel price volatility permanently, saves public money and cuts climate-changing emissions.
