Status: Closed Opened: 1 May 2014 Closed: 24 Feb 2015 1 report
Inquiry scopeThe Committee followed up on its 2011 report on Air Quality . Since then further scientific evidence emerged on the link between air quality and health. The European Commission has started proceedings against the UK for failure to meet pollution limits on Nitrogen Oxides. The Committee also looked at progress on recommendations made in 2011 and also examined the role that might be played by new environmental technologies, and the scope for wider transport policies — for example on public transport and cycling and walking — to cut air pollution.
