Select Committee · Energy Security and Net Zero Committee
Securing the domestic supply chain
Status: Closed
Opened: 17 Nov 2023
Closed: 24 May 2024
Inquiry scope
** Following the announcement that a General Election will be held on 4 July, Select Committees will be unable to meet from 24 May and will cease to exist from 30 May until after the General Election. This work has therefore closed.** The Committee has launched an inquiry examining the potential for UK manufacturing to play a greater role in the supply chain for low-carbon energy projects and the Government support available. The inquiry’s proposed aims are: To determine how well we understand where, in the low-carbon energy sector, the greatest potential for a UK supply chain lies; To explore how effectively the Government is supporting industry to reach this potential; To understand how growing a more local supply chain could affect progress towards the goal of a secure, decarbonised electricity sector by 2035.Oral evidence sessions
