Recommendation
The Government should set out how it will build on the lessons learnt during the pandemic by making it easier for researchers to: a) access vital patient data; b) access staff needed for their studies, by providing more protected time for research in NHS contracts, and c) get studies open for recruitment swiftly, by streamlining ethics and other approval processes.
