MPs will question officials from the General Medical Council (GMC) on the work of the organisation. The session is expected to focus on: The GMC’s role in regulating Physician Associates and Anaesthesia Associates Plans by the Government to modernise the legislation governing the GMC’s work GMC oversight of doctors who are subject to overseas regulatory action The GMC’s assessment of trends in registration and practice of internationally qualified doctors Progress by the GMC in addressing discrimination and reducing disproportionate fitness to practise referrals
