Inquiry scope
The Health and Social Care Committee have invited the Secretary of State for Health Sajid Javid and Chief Medical Officer Professor Chris Whitty to answer questions about the new variant, booster jabs and measures to slow transmission of the virus. Questions will focus on emerging evidence on the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus, including transmissibility and severity of illness for those infected. MPs are also expected to address vaccine effectiveness and roll out of booster jabs, as well as the impact on young people.Oral evidence sessions
